Hi All,
Just got back from Wedderburn Victoria (6.5 hours drive from Adelaide SA) and we had a ball with CHS hosting the Invasion of Crete. Of course it was a foregone conclusion as to the turnout and end of the scenario, but it was good fun anyway. Doing the role of a German FJ I pretty much knew the death toll for us fellows was pretty darn high and the survival rate pretty darn low. But you get that on these big jobs! We had drop cannisters with our weapons and supplies/rations in and objectives to meet. We had a contingent of Gebirgs there as well to help us outnumbered FJ out and the Allies were keen to start with the killing.
CHS did a marvelous job of hosting the event and setting up the scenarios, I look forward to going back again next year! The fight for the airfield was good fun and on the move was tiring, but the result was a happy one for the Deutsche Soldaten.
