Suzy and Her Amazing Spangly Banjo
Just a quick note to you all to let you know that a few of the chaps from FJR3 will be doing a second impression this year based on a generic heer look.
We are not protraying any individual unit, or time scale, as this will be dictated by the events we attend, although in general we all have 42/43 era uniforms.
The intention is to have a very non-elite unit, similar to what 272 and a few others are doing. Our main impression will be of the ersatz or second line/rear area support troops such as catering and dispatch riders.
Our intended display is either a small kampfgruppe fitting back to their own lines or recvering behind the lines sort of affair, with field kitchen, vehicle repair, generally sat around drinking beer - I know same as FJR3.
We slaved away for minutes trying to think up a name and this was all we could muster other than unbekantersoldat, which is perhaps slightly more fitting for a ww2 german re-enatcment group, but it doesn't quitre stand out the same.
We are intentionally having no rank and no awards, as it is intended that everyone attending should enjoy themselves rahter than a burden of organisation be on any individual.
It all may sound a little vague, and that to is kind of intentional as we decided to see howthings went rather than pick a unit/display theme or time period and then change our minds in 6 months.
WE will still be doing FJR3, but in a reduced capacity this year as some of us fancy a bit of a change

So you're setting up a Third Reich anarcho-syndicalist commune? .........Interesting.........
Sorry, joking aside, I can see where you're coming from.
Does this mean that any old tramp like me can pull up a hay bale and chinwag for a while?
Actually, it doesn't sound much different from before. So, jolly good, carry on chaps......

YaY!!! It's the year for the Heer. Rip off the runes and get some ordinary.
Best of luck with this.

I always thought penal units would solve a lot of reenactings political problems. No rank or awards, just guys fighting.

I'm happy to say that Matt has accepted my application to this refreshing new approach, and I look forward to being an exhausted drunken tramp at the first display.

Re: Suzy and Her Amazing Spangly Banjo
as for noodles and kebabs this year I are mostly be eating authentic field prepared stuff.
We plan to have operational field kitchen for bigger events - so I will be donning the pinnie once more to try and cook something edible and not £4 for a crappy little half cooked burger
Tim you are always more than welcome as I never know you to turn up without a bottle of somethign dangerous and intriguing in your hand
