Big Reenactment Meeting in Spain
As we did for the two last years, we organize a big WWII reenactment meeting in Baldellou (province of Huesca), Spain. The dates: may, 9th and 10th 2009.
This years main scenario is going to be Monte Cassino ( 8th of may is the 65th anniversary of the 3rd Cassino Battle)
There are going to be three battles: East Front, Normandy and Italy.
Of course, you are all wellcome.
If you are interested, contact us by a PM or leave your comments in this post.
Thanks

Re: Big Reenactment Meeting in Spain
It is very difficult to hire weapons in Spain, but you can use your own weapons. It is possible to use blank firing in the official reenactment events.
Re: Big Reenactment Meeting in Spain
some info at last
That would be the second time our group would go to the sunny Spain to this event. And we expect at least as much fun as the last time This time we would be going in numbers and... with some Friends (by large 'F' )
The event itself is very much recommended. If anyone needs some info on how it was last time - pls dont hesitate to ask...
We look forward to the Monte Cassino scenario very much ! Gebirgsjager vor !

Re: Big Reenactment Meeting in Spain
This is the battles planning for this edition:
Saturday noon: "Hussarenritt"
Hussars´ rode Operation.
German counterattack against the avant-gardes of the Red Army. Germany 1944
The advanced Soviet troops position is waiting to be reinforced in order to begin again the advance towards Germany.A counterattack is mounted to slow down their progress.
Soviets. Deployed in the "park" with support weapons if They have. A contingent is entrenched in the northern road.
Germans. His forces carried out an advance from the way and from the road. When they reach the Soviet contingent there takes place a struggle of which the soviet ones go out victorious. but they must withdraw for the meager of his forces.
By road the German forces are advancing. Those who are closer to the way are attacked by the contingent that comes from there. Considering the clear superiority of the German forces in that sector the remains of the Russian contingent are annihilated.
On the road the German advance was stalled by strong Soviet resistance, although it is losing positions every time is more fierce. Without strength to counter-attack on the part of the Russians and knowing ones that in any moment the Soviet forces could receive reinforcements, the battle finishes in stage after last German attempt of breaking the Soviet positions.
Saturday afternoon (In the meander of the river below the camping site)
Valle del Liri
The Allied Forces are recognizing the area before proceeding to the assault to German positions in Casino. His observers´ detachment turns out to be surprised by an unexpected German attack.
Immediately allied forces come to stop the enemy. The Germans are progressing easily through the center of the device. To the flanks there take place more fierce clashes in which the Allied Forces turn out to be in worse situation. Finally the Germans manage to establish a bridgehead to another side of the river and his forces begin flanking maneuvers to what the allies answer initiating a retreat.
The detachment of scouts is overwhelmed by the German push and is destroyed in his retreat.
Sunday
Diadem operation.
The allies launched what at last will be the definitive assault against the Abbey of Montecasino. We have German forces evacuated the works of art of the monastery to prevent from being destroyed in the fighting.
German forces arrive and are positioned in their areas of deployment. There begins the attack Allied from his left flank. On having verified that is hard protected, they decide to withdraw and wait. Then another column allied attacks the heart of the German. A third column is launching a simultaneous attack from the Allied right flank . To all this the German realize movements of re-deployment of forces.
The Allied forces resumed their assault on the left flank to find that part of the German troops had come to reinforce other areas, but they use another route to the interior of the village.
The progress of the allied left flank and the center are progressing while the Germans were forced to retreat, the same does not happen in the weah right where the Allied Forces are overwhelmed by the Germans. Seeing the situation untenable and at the risk of being surrounded, the German command ordered the retreat through the weakest flank allied, the right, while in other sectors allied forces are destroying the German units, the remains of German units that manages to reach the town square to begin the evacuation, destroying it for the allied forces who are trying, without success, to block. Finally, the victorious allied vanguards arrive in the town square when the German forces fugitive have already gone out the people to continue defending their positions elsewhere in the Italian peninsula.
We hope everybody is going to enjoy it!

Re: Big Reenactment Meeting in Spain
That's the weekend of Dordrecht. As a Fallschirmjäger I'll be going there and it only 45 minutes away.
Plus the Dutch invasion in one of my things instead of Normandy and Kreta.
Have a good time in Spain!

Red poppies on Monte Cassino
Instead of dew, drank Polish blood...
On them, the soldier went and died
But the anger was more potent than death!
Years will pass and ages will roll,
Traces of bygone days will stay,
Only the poppies on Monte Cassino
Will be redder having quaffed Polish blood.
Czerwone maki na Monte Cassino (Polish for The Red Poppies on Monte Cassino) is one of the most famous Polish military songs from the period of World War II, created in 1944 during the late phases of the battle of Monte Cassino.

It was an honour and a pleasure at the same time.
Some selected photos:
Field radio
Original weapons
FG42 by Shoei.
Falschirm diorama.
The most spectacular -the 'Goumiers'. My favourite uniform since last weekend...
82 'All American'.
Waffen SS.
Various camo, including 'Telo Mimetico'.
The English.
Polish 2nd Corps.
Falschirmjaeger
The action - Pak and Machinegewehr.
ATB - checking weapons.
Walking wounded.
Symbolic Polish flag waves over the town square.
