A labor of love indeed Volkspanzer. Many thanks for showing us your fine work. You've just raised the bar for all those repro builders out there!
How do you manage to reenact in Germany with the strict laws there?

Hello,
Please sorry for the late reply, but at the moment I have a lot of work.
Reenactment, i mean the portrayal of German units from the 2nd World war
in Germany, I think, we havn't..., Thats why we have to go for reenactment in our Neighbor Countries, like Belgium:
Here are some pictures from the first event in sharp shot (with blank cartridges ),I have been with my Sdkfz 247 B:
http://www.volkspanzer.com/Gallery/index.html
We have used an original MG 42, only the calibre was changed to 7,62 Nato. The speed was still the same as in 1942-1945, like :
rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr - and then this rain of empty cartridges.... madness
It was a resounding success. Many people could not believe that the vehicle is a complete rebuild.
Above all the detailed interior was highly praised.
And for the musical entertainment during the breaks was also provided with a hidden built CD player and music from this site:

Re: Reproduction of the german sdkfz. 247 B
what's the history about this vehicle, becouse I've never seen it before on pictures. When was it build and used, how many where build, etc...?
Re: Reproduction of the german sdkfz. 247 B
From memory 48 of the 4 rad were built and 10 of the 6 rad. They were unarmed, had no radio fitted and provided only limited protection against small arms fire. They were designed to be used, essentially, as armoured staff cars near the front lines.
They were mainly assigned to Aufklaerungs abteilung and Kradschuetzen battalions (I think the SS got the majority, but I do know that 2nd Panzer Div had 5 assigned to them).

Re: Reproduction of the german sdkfz. 247 B
There are different production figures.
There probably 60 cars were built. Some speaks also about 90 cars
The armor was like all other Panzerspaehwagen ( p.e. Sdkfz 222), 8mm Steel, only safe against S.m.K (Spitzgeschoß mit Kern) ammunition.
I have pictures of this vehicle from
3. Panzer-Div.
LSAH
Totenkopf Division
Großdeutschland
Unkown Division in Russia
Unkown Division in Greece
Unkown Division in Italy/Africa
Unkown Division in Germany
Fallschirmpanzer-Division Hermann G.
The cars was fitted by the forces with radio equipment and sometimes also with weapons (MG on top), according to her wishes.
