Is this the jacket in question ? yes it has 6 buttons but it is supposed to be a original item .

The boards on that tunic, if original, are for the rural Gendarmerie.

you can tell by the black additional - stitching intermeshed with the normal NCO or Officer SB's.

They are also made in the same manner as the army officer's type and have a brown base instead of feldgrau.

Greetings chaps, :D the question of troops wearing camo?. :roll: I did come across an artcle in the French "Militaria" magazine some years ago on that very topic, not having the magazine infront of me i can only go by memory but here's how i remember it. Apparantly there was an order passed in 1942 not just to SS/FJ but to all armed forces in general that only combat serving troops can/allowed to wear camo. Any pictures that are about of rear echelon troops doing so would be i imagine wearing camo items unofficially. I will have a good look around amongst my junk for that magazine (if ive still got it) and write a more detailled post later on, :wink: regards Peiper 8)

Yes Mike that is the Police cut uniform the shoulder boards are not for that jacket .Mr Peiper that order for cammo not to be used behind the lines would it be the one that states that parkas are to be used with the Grey/ cammo side out most by rear echelon troops during the winter ?

Hi kameraden Repper, :D as far as i remember the article (as stated previously) just referred to the order of non combatants not being allowed to wear camo, as far as i can remember, (im still searching for that mag :roll: ), regards Peiper :wink:
