Djebel Brecon - UK Hill Event

Post by Hannibal Brooks »

Hello all,

I'm trying to establish if there is any interest out there in doing a hill event here in the UK. Loosely themed on the Tunisian campaign of '42-'43, it will take place over a weekend in the Brecon Beacons National Park. Interest permitting, this will be happening some time this summer.

The terrain in the Beacons, although not identical to the Djebels of the Dorsale Range, are barren enough to be vaguely similar!

Although not a tactical event as such (no deact weapons unless the local police say ok), it will be an opportunity to get out into the wilds, hiking over the rough terrain of the Beacons for a couple of days.

To have a look at the area, here are a few links:

Cheers,

Hannibal.

Hello all,
If you haven't got a North Africa-specific impression, don't feel left out! Anyone who has an interest in a weekend in the hills will be more that welcome. I hope to publish more details of my cunning plan for this event soon. Watch this space!
