Don't forget, everybody must wear their uniforms to bed for 3 months before Beltring, go unshaven and mustn't wash to obtain the desired effect.

I have been in comms with Bryn.

We are building a periscope that will slot over the pole of a beer table umberella.

It will have folding handles and an eye piece - Periodically someone must raise it (Lock it in place with the umberella catch) and circumnavigate the table whilst looking for surface craft. Whilst this is happening, all at the table and near vicinity must observe silent running.

If all is clear, the sonar operator must report to confirm and then the periscope will be lowered.... Normal drinking operations can be resumed.

Anyone own a Klaxon?
We could instigate 'hot seating' in the bar. when the klaxon sounds those sat down stand up and those stood up sit down?
Crash Dive anyone?
Repeated klaxon calls, all seamen run to one end of the tables and pile up?
Tie that in with the periscope.
I see avisit to a chandlers in the offing.

It's a good start.
Anyone thinking of joining in but not having a hat I have one of the white topped ratings caps in a 58 with a KM tally to go on it. I also have the poodlemutz but that might be a bit on the warm side for Beltring.

Ah well, I've been wearing mine for what seems a month already!

Seriously though, perhaps we should agree on a particular night when we'll ALL wear our U boot uniforms and have a mini parade outside the biertent.

Excellent! I particularly like the bar scene but can't find a clip.

I haven't fully worn it yet, Kel dear (plus the trousers need taking up.)
