New police/Feld. Gend. equipment
After much hunting, I've finally got my hands on these:
The pouch:
Pouch and contents:
The pouch itself is nicely dated:
The handcuffs themselves are also nicely marked:
Handcuffs were issued the the Feld. Gend. along with batons (I've also got one), though not normally on the front lines. I have confirmed that those employed as streifendienst and Bahnhofswache were certainly issued them when on duty (though like the gorgets they were not persoanl issue items) and some Feld. Gend. veterans have also confirmed they carried them when on duty, though mainly in western Europe it would appear. They were normally worn on the right front side of the belt.

The handcuffs I bought about 7 years ago for £50 - they are now seeling for about £100+ on eBay. This is the only pouch I've ever seen, I got it from a very reputable dealer in Germany and it's the only one he's ever had in about 30 years! Needless to say it wasn't cheap...
The pouch shouldn't be too difficult to reproduce, though there is a loop in the top with a press stud for either chain link cuffs or the 'come along' restraint in order to stop them disappering to the bottom of the pouch!

By request, here are the pictures of the baton and holder. The baton itself is made of a very heavy rubber (the same type of material as modern baton rounds). Thre was another tpe of baton - a telescopic device not dissimilar to a modern ASP baton, however I can only find references to these being issued to plain clothes SiPo and KriPo officers, presumably as they were easier to conceal.
The holder has a little mould on it from where it was stored in the damp - I've now removed that and given it a good soaking with neatsfoot oil.

Be interesting to see them - they were coiled steel (like a large spring) rather than solid like the modern ASP.

Yup - thats the one. They sometimes have 'SiPo' embossed on the end caps.
I'll see if I can find the one in my manual.
