German rations
German rations
Got bored today, so I disappeared up to London to visit the German Deli (about 10 mins walk from Angel Islington). What can i say, but its a bit of treasure trove for those who like their food with a Germanic flavour. Scho-Ka-Kola for £2.60 a tin, and a vast selection of other german foodstuffs.
Question is, is it possible to get hold of repro german ww2 food labels? - I quite fancy having a go at making some feldportionen packs.
As an aside, when one of your german relatives asks you to pick up some Limburger cheese for them its advisable to pack it in at least 5 sealed plastic bags and a HAZMAT container, lest you get some very nasty looks from other passengers on the tube
And dont take a mate who stands next to you in the queue and says to you "I'll have ze bratwurst, ze pumpernickel and ze map of poland".....

Major Richard Heidrich: "Why do you want to jump out of a perfectly good aeroplane?"
Willi Schmidt: "When the Luftwaffe builds a perfectly good aeroplane, Sir, I shan't need to"

What type of rations are you looking to recreate?
I have a load of original bits and pieces, and some research material I've gathered over the years - I'll try and help out where I can.

I wouldn't mind being included in this offer. Any scans etc of labels especially welcome.I have a load of original bits and pieces, and some research material I've gathered over the years - I'll try and help out where I can.
I am no computer expert ( in fact a dunce) but is it possible to get an area on the forum where people can share such info/pdf files etc?
Can people also post links or images of the original source item as well? There are/were a lot of fantasy items floating about a while ago (not all on here I hasten to add).

Thanks for all the help. It's much appreciated
Cheers for the heads-up Geoff. I'll have a word with Andy (I know him from the days when he used to Airsoft and I was running the FireFight site at Mapledurham)
