Pocket alignment

Post by pzrwest »

I was comparring my Sturm tunics to the LB m36 and m40's and notice the upper and lower pocket edges are not inline like the LB ones
Should I leave them as Sturm has them or move them over to line up with the upper pocket edges like the LB ones?

dont get it :?:
most of the lower pockets are not in line with the upper ones because the lower ones usually are broader. m44 and m36...what does LB mean?

I assume LB - Lost Battalions, a US based supplier (http://www.lostbattalions.com) run by Ed Walton.

My Janke tunics don't have the pockets in line - I would have thought that as the tunics get bigger, the more out of line they get to compensate for the additional space, otherwise they'd get out of proportion :?: Mu RU one is stowed away in the loft at present.

I would say it depends what it looks like when worn. Its hard to tell from the pictures as the LB one is pinched at the waist by the belt.

Have a look at some dealers sites and see what pictures of original tunics you can find which are lai flar (http://www.germanmilitaria.com might be a good starting point).

mh, ja, see what you mean, looks like the distances from the buttons to the edges of top and bottom pockets are inverse on the two jackets as well. it does not look like any of them are aligned to me, though.

best bet is compare them to original pics?
