I want to get into re-enactments playing a Waffen-SS troop in 1944-45, but I don't know how young they would accept males for it to be historically accurate. :| :?:

17 years was the norm., after they'd done the compulsory 12 month stint with R..A.D.

...how old are you?

17, but sometimes younger within the SS and later the Heer and Lufwaffe as the war dragged on.

Well, that's the thing. I'm fourteen years of age but I'm still working on my SS uniform. So maybe by the time I'm finished I might be 16 or 17... I am also from West Virginia USA.

Do 12th SS then as stated and act as the "bubi" of the group, meaning the baby faced one ;)

It looks like a very interesting book! I will have to read it. :wink: I still have 2 years before I'm 16, by then hopefully I will have my 12 SS Uniform ready to go.
