Pea Dot Uniform
I don't know what I should purchase. I have a M44 Pea Dot Camouflage Tunic Field Jacket, but I don't know if I should purchase matching camouflage trousers, or the standard Grey Wool trousers to go with the jacket. Can someone give me some advice?

Re: Pea Dot Uniform
Hi there,
assuming that you're doing 12th SS, many photos show the young men in complete sets. Personally, I would go for a matching one.

thanks christiandbn. are there any photos of 12 SS wearing jack boots with pea dot, or no? because i like jack boots, but I don't know if it is correct for a 12 SS to be wearing them...

Re: Pea Dot Uniform
Low boots and gaiters would be the norm.........Jackboots would be for officers and possibly senior NCO'S due to there being a shortage of leather towards the end of the War.........

Also for practicallity. It's easier to run in ankle boots than jackboots. I know they look better, but in a combat situation where your life depends on your ability to be the first one to shoot and quick to get to cover...I'd take the ankle boots.

Those guys probably took them off their dead "alte Hasen" if you look at their medals, they've been around the ball park a few times and survived!

Re: Pea Dot Uniform
It would look even more the case if one was wearing officer boots

Re: Pea Dot Uniform
As of right now I am saving up my money for a Kar98k. I am still debating over low boots or jack boots. They both have pros and cons. Should I get chicken wire bowl for my stahlhelm or some other form of SS helmet cover, because I know they didn't make Pea Dot helmet covers

I'd buy boots before a rifle.

Re: Pea Dot Uniform
Correct boots first It looks a bit strange carrying a rifle and wearing trainees, mules or wellington boots

Re: Pea Dot Uniform
Well the Kar98k I want is only $250 because it was Yugoslavian captured and used by Communists in the Cold War. But I'll see what I can do about the footwear first I suppose.
