Nice, really extravagant.
Is it a sea-star on the side of your cap ?

Yes, that was the unit symbol used by the Marine Küstenartillerie Abteilung 201 that was stationed overthere:
Re: Show us you!
No end of surprises with the details of German uniforms... if you'd told me there was a unit that wore a starfish on the side of their caps I wouldn't have believed you!
Well done for tapping in to a bit of 'local' history!

Re: Show us you!
At that same event where Dutch Boy Rednas had his KMuniform on, we had some nasty enemy's coming to near to our bunker.
But we solved that...

Very nice uniform and cap! Where did you find those?rednas wrote:Yes, that was the unit symbol used by the Marine Küstenartillerie Abteilung 201 that was stationed overthere:
It's also curious to see how the same symbol wasa also used by the Marineartillerieabteilung 204 here in Belgium. They wore exactly the same sea star!
I'll see if I can find a picture of that
cheers!

Re: Show us you!
I made the uniform myself by removing the lower pockets of a M40 uniform, added insignia (Gebirgsjäger shoulderboards, KM eagles) and buttons from Epic militaria (painted these feldgrau). I added white between regular Aufklarungs collar tabs to get the KM coastal artillery version. The cap started live as a regular simple infantry cap as I had a spare one that I didn't used (but you can also use a Gebirgsjäger cap as I had to dye the white collars to dark green). I used a razorblade to shave the wool, to get the right type of wool that you see mostly on original uniforms. Added the KM insignia, made a fishstar and the cap was done.
@ MAA204, I don't know why both used the same symbol, they also weren't part of the same Marine-Artillerie-Regiment (resp. 21 and 22). Was there a level above the artillerie regiment?
This photo shows the uniform better (best is to use the red/blue 3d glasses )

Great photo's Oberschnaepser! I like the haircut
You too, Sander, nice KM impression. Are you going as Wachtmeister or Leutnant der Flak at Hoorn Medemblik?

I' also planning to make my MAA Feldbluse the same way, but the Enlisted Men version, officer is way to fancy
Don't know if there was a level above MA-Regiment...
Maybe the use of the same symbol was a north sea thing... Who knows?
