PARKING YOUR VEHICLE

Please use your heads when you arrive and park sensibly, dont park on the lane that you arrive on.
There will be Jeeps/Weaps Carrier and GMC that need to move about.
As you would at an air show etc... park on the field to the left of the road, I have had a word with God and he said "Bring your sunnies" so the grass will be dry all weekend, in fact its going to be HOT ...
Stay to the right of HUTD as you look at it, ie Park up befire you reach it. You will see other oparked join in on their line.Regards Pete

The Panzergrenadiers from the 60th Panzergrenadierregiment would like to use this opportunity to thank everybody for their input, camaraderie and willingness to fight and coöperate in the heavy battle at the Rühr-valley.

Hopefully we will see our "Kameraden" soon again on the battlefield.

Superb weekend!A few pics over in the photo section! It was good to be at an event and be heavily outnumbered, still the Axis held their own! There was a few Teflon soldaten, but I think Pete has that in hand! Still where we had the German CP was truly stunning and I have aches in my facial muscles from laughing so much! A damn good event and we were blessed with the weather.

Probably the same place as the sausage eating surrender monkey's get their bullet proof Zeltbahns. Couldn't stop laughing when the Brit para's and Rangers fired hundred of shots into the camp full of Zeltbahns and only two guys took the hits, couple of guys who had ducked down behind the tents kept popping back up and firing back seemingly impervious to bullets.

Were you the lone German at the edge of the ravine that was moaning about having shot Ozzy and him not dying with the MG whilst our guys had been shooting you from three different directions for about ten minutes before hand, you were outnumbered 19-1 so well done for dodging all the bullets and then moaning because one of our lads hadn't died.

Were you one of the three Germans that I sneaked all the way around the top to flank and then put a full 30 round mag clip into them from about 40 feet away. They all ignored the hit but started shooting back, I just retreated because I thought what was the point.

Were you the guy with the MG during the Sunday morning battle that moaned to Pete about the Rangers not taking the hits even though you had been wiped out by a Bazooka from our lads ten minutes before hand, think you'll find that a bazooka round would have penetrated the stump you were hiding behind.

I think the problem isn't that people are not taking the hits but were probably just unaware that someone was shooting at them, just because you get someone in your sights and pull the trigger it doesn't mean the person has seen which direction the shot came from or who it was aimed at. This is not a blat fest and I shot loads of guys over the weekend that didn't die, I just think most didn't see me. These weekends are more about the physical hardships that the men had to go through and that gives you a small insight into what it might have been like, its not about raking up a score on how many men you think you've shot.

Apart form the few moaners I think that the German troops were excellent and I got shot four times, they did very well considering their numbers. I had to keep all my guys in one large squad of 19 because as soon as we split into two squads we got hammered.

Got to say that these guys in WW2 must have been super fit and my legs were like jelly when I had to keep going up and down the hills. Thanks to Pete Skillman for all his efforts and this was probably one of the best Private Battles that I've been to.

Hmmm, yes that would have been a great idea.... start discharging front venting weapons in the camp where there could have been an accident. I wasn't to pleased that a few Germans did return fire to be honest, when in the camp all weapons should have been made safe.

Not that I moderate this board but could we be constructive about gripes and not have a free for all concerning shot taking.... If you point it out to your C/O at the time, he can discuss it with the Axis/Allied C/O and the problem can be sorted very easily. Simple.

I was under the impression that all areas within the predefined battle area were subject to attack during this 36 hour tactical event and the cosy non-combatant camping was up near John Oxlade. If I'm wrong that'll make it easy for me next year, I'll just put about twenty pup-tents along our line of defence and you won't be able to attack them.

As for having a go at each other over shot taking I think you'll find that someone had a go at our group first.

Now come on fellas we all had a great weekend, lets not spoil it now.
Ok there are some on all sides that dont get the hit. My rule is if i see the mussle flash and the guys face I take it as a hit, and I would always try and hit a guys who was face on, so he could see the same, and many times they did.
The biggest problem I saw was the guys firing over their head, not aimed just spraying brass, If you cant aim a shot how the hell are you going to hit anything? And that was seen on both sides of the field, so remember the great time we all had and forget the silly little spats PLEASE
