Project Edelweiss III - 2011

Post by glenn »

Dear Jägers,

I have the pleasure to inform you about Project Edelweiss 2011.

For what?
I would say… for a pure gebirgsjäger experience! Project Edelweiss has for objective to live mountain trips in period conditions, it is a sportive and an reenactment event.

Where?
PE2011 will happen for the third time in the French Alps. The accurate place is communicated to the participants when the chosen path is confirmed (April 2011).

When?

The three days trip will be planned between June 27th and July 17th 2011. The date will be decided in January 2011.

How to join?
The deadline for the inscription is on 1st March 2011.

What is required?
Two main things:
- Excellent physical conditions - it is first a mountain trip, then a reenactment event!
- Quality of the uniforms and equipments – pre-war Gebirgsjäger impression.

I am available for questions, do not hesitate, you are welcome !

Best Regards,
…und Bergheil !
:D :D :D

In 2011 Edition it seems there will be more of us Poles that in this years edition. 4-5 gents from my Group wants to go. Everyone is buying stuff and practicing excercises.
I think that with Seb from UK it gaves 6prs total.

Thank very much for your comments.

Less than two months left and we are fixing the last details of the trip. The only uncertain variable will be the weather :? but I hope we will get perfect conditions in order to reach our objective !

I promise, I will care about Albert feet, Franz

Hurra ! Hurra ! Hurra !

I have the pleasure to announce, Project Edelweiss 2011 was a success ! We got a quite bad weather but also some sun during our progression to the summit. Difficult nights, three days of non-stop hike but a beautiful and unique experience over 3000m/alt. I had the pleasure to note the high involvement and efforts of all the participants.

The official photo report will be ready and published on this Forum in August.
