trying to think of a film that i watched on youtube.

it was in several parts on youtube,

about a german officer sent to the front , proved him self against a tank attack. Then posted to the outskirts of stalingrad in charge of an artillery unit. Black and white , early 50's i think, kind on par with 08/15 and die brücke

any ideas ?

i have done, but with no luck ,

more clues : the german officer befriended a russian girl , and ends up meeting her in stalingrad where she helps him to his own lines
