Jackboot confusion!
OK guys,
I hope I don't annoy any mods with this topic, but I've recently found myself in the market for a pair of jackboots. I was going to go Lost Battalions when the time came, but the word is that they're not bothering with boots anymore, and added to that, I need them quicker than they can realistically offer.
I did a quick search on eBay.de and found a company making repros, (news to me):
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... K:MEWAX:IT
Anyway, I digress. I came to good old Pst! knowing you guys could point me in the right direction. A quick search and i find myself inundated with info about European boot makers, Czech, Polish, etc etc... All this info gave me a sore head!
I guess my question in a nutshell is which io these European manufacturers (or any other that may not be included with these) would you boys consider the best (including quality, price, etc)?
Thanks for your help in advance.
Wolfie

I may be wrong, but this jackboot is made in Pakistan!

Thanks. You're probably right! I should have said "selling" not "making" when referring to the eBay link. :/

These boots are made by sturm, the quality is not bad but the main thing is- does it fit? These are made way over reguar peoples size and these fit (comfortably) only few people.

Re: Jackboot confusion!
Well, my boots have the narrowest soles a person could find. I don't even have wide feet, but they are still too narrow for me. Also the upper part of the boot is too wide, I could fit both of my legs inside them. Narrow sole & wide leg makes the boot look silly.
You don't want to buy them...

Thanks Peter. What boots do you own?

Hi,
I can recommend either german early postwar police or standard Wachbattalion boots.
Good, officially issued quality made in germany,
100% ok for reenactment

Zib militaria (DE) has them unworn...and for a good price
Re: Jackboot confusion!
They are ok....If you don't care about the finer details...
the detailing is not correct, much less the industrial dyed all-black smooth side out leather.
Wachbattalion boots are used by people who also think BGS helmets and BW messkits are the best.

Some people have had a good experience with these here: http://www.robertlandhistoricshoes.com/ ... tail?no=17 They are said to look much better in reality than on the website. The maker would be willing to install original hobnails and heel irons if they are provided by the buyer.

Re: Jackboot confusion!
tbh eric,
they look alot better then alot of crap thats availible. The calf length of width of the jackboot looks like to be of the appropiate size and not overly wide enough to stick a tank down there.

I just bought a pair and was planning to add a sole layer and hobnail them.

Re: Jackboot confusion!
The nose is too bulgy, schould be more a sharp shape. I haven't found good reproductions for jackboots yet, all have problems. The postwar boots are nothing like the ww2 ones. The boots made by Sturm look good, though again the calf is too wide.Hans Gowert wrote:tbh eric,

Some manufractors even make reproductions of the postwar boots
