3./Kompanie GD circa 2004
![Image](http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2602/4133860080_255a254c57_o.jpg)
Well, this is a new one for me.
Prior to forming our 3/kp GD group i searched google worldwide to find if another existed on these islands before making a discision on the 3rd Kompanie and today i've discovered that one did existed in Britain in 2004. Is this group still around? if not what happend to it and how long did exist?
For a long time i've believed that individual Kompanie numbers for re-enactment groups are totally irrelevant and that a good authentic impression covers a broad stereo typical look of that division or unit irrespective of a unit number. Believing in this thought some months back i took the decission to remove the title 3/KP from our banner and all mention of 3/kp from our website because we're not interested in rivalry or individualism in our GD impression because after all we are all striving for the same goal….complete authenticity.
Sean.
Re: Show us you!
It was a while back Sean
As far as I know (which admittedly is not a great deal) the unit was formed in 2000 by ex-members of the LHA (I think 916) looking to branch out and portray Grossdeutschland, so they went off and formed 3./KP and set up shop in the Midlands as that's where it drew most of it's membership from.
After a period of freefall and dropping standards due to the age old story of the C/O not being bothered anymore and being left to unofficially run it for ourselves during the 2005 season, 9 of us decided it was time to split and at the end of the 2005 season we went on to form the group we now portray '2/Pz.Aufkl.Abt.Grossdeutschland'.
Ironically, this very forum was set up by Alex in 2005 (who was a member of the group) as the 3./KP one and as you can see it grew and ultimately developed into 'Psst'.
With the bulk of the membership gone, I think 3./KP pretty much died a death in 2005 and as far as I know whoever was left went on to either join other groups or packed in totally.
Hope that helps a bit
Neil.

Re: Show us you!
Thanks Neil that was a very helpful response, i hope you guys did'nt think that when we first started as 3/kp that we were trying to continue were you guys left off, the truth is i only discovered today that another 3/kp had existed. Everyone here knows that Grossdeutschland groups in Britain have the highest possible standards and our group in Ireland which is the first Heer group in the country are always striving to reach those standards which i believe we are achieving, nothing in our group gets by me unless its on or above the mark
Cheers,
sean.

Re: Show us you!
Well, just had my first outing with GD Recon (first outing with anybody in fact...) at their training weekend at Ashdown Camp, Evesham.
Bloody great weekend, and a cracking group of lads.
Anyway, here's me...
