Cookie> That picture is awesome!
I really love the overall 'feel' of it.
IF i should have any critisism to it, it would perhaps be your hand not being dirty enough

Thanks for that point never thought of it before point of intrest is that the two guys with hands on the muzzle are both Ex squddies ok I was in with the SLR think thats were I picked it up fromSalacious Crumb wrote:At WAF there was a picture of our group in discution of being real or not and one of the points they noticed was that I put my hands on the muzzle of the rifle, something which was never done as it could be the los of two good hands! It is something I'll never do again.Franz repper wrote:

Re: Show us you!
I know there are probably a lot of pics with soldiers with their hands on the muzzels of their rifles but I believe safety comes first over authenticity. I would hate to have to explain to someones wife or parents that their loved one was injured or even killed. It would be little solice to them that the person was being authentically correct. When handleing firearms whether active or de-activated safety should come first. I know people will say "but it can't shoot it's a deact"... well what if someone handed them an active weapon, they could be so used to treating the de-act in an un-safe matter that they probably would treat the active one the same way. Another thing is all some people need to start a ruccuss reguarding re-enacting is people getting hurt with firearms... Let's not feed these people any reason to bolster their agenda

Re: Show us you!
i think it is down to common sence really. Ill do it as i know that weapon is not loaded because A:my weapons cannot chamber a round, B: i treat every weapon with respect C: when someone does hand me another weapon to look at ill always make sure it is cleared of a round first. AND D:! everytime i hand a weapon to someone else ill always show it is clear of a round even when i and he/she knows it is a deact !.
so, yes i will carry on putting my hand over the muzzle of my weapons for photo's. Not that i actuly do it often, just that i do sometimes

Franz, Ingo, seems you´re off to potato peeling duty for trying to look like battle-hardened veterans (which you are)!

Re: Show us you!
not strange at all really. depending the scenario, the lonely grenadier were only whats left of a unit and would have to take command of the squad, which mostly was the most experienced man, it happened alot on the eastern front, not saying that the picture correctly portrays that, but just saying that it did happen.pzrwest wrote:Nice pics Otto. This is probably one of my all time favorite re-enactment pics. Always love seeing what you boys come up with but this one is superb.Cookie wrote:From a TFH photoshoot back in the day. 33rd Waffen Grenadier Division der SS "Charlemagne", Berlin, April-May 1945.
Sadly enough I've yet to see anyone at a show doing French SS or even any pictures. Oh well!
