M43 stick? very late issue item

Was M43 really that late issue? I've seen quite a bit of them in photos and always assumed they were quite common in 1944. Don't know about july, but atleast towards the end.

Yes LATE 44 saw widespread issue of the M43 stick grenade,so many guys use them for normandy etc,never seen an original pic ot that!

But as its only a hobby people can do and wear what they like

You do might be correct, with a quick look I endeed couldn't find any photos of summer 1944 with these grenades, only few from winter 1944/45. I need to search a bit more information, as this is a quite interesting point I have never thought before...!
