I agree kamerad, ive been to Maleme, the terrain is the same as these pics.

Is that the German Cemetary at Maleme ??
That graffitti is recent then, it wasn't there about 4yr ago, shocking :shock:

hi Piper,
no is the monument in memory of the fallen paratroopers in the Battle of Crete in Chania city. Unfortunately, the eagle fall and was destroyed (sic ).... ..... perhaps the monument was smeared by Greek demonstrators ... but also at the maleme cemetery in 2008, when the I visited the plaque was daubed with slogans in memory! Excuse my English ... is the translator of Google ehehehehe ..

Thanks for the heads up kamerad, still shocking, i noticed in Rhodes also the monument for Resistance
and Allies near Mandraki Harbour, this too was in an unrepaired state :shock:
