Whether it is working from the rear areas of the line,

However the Kriegsberichter is always in danger. Injury or capture is a real threat.

Brilliant Mark.
What people probably don't realise is that all the above images captured on film stock using period cameras and developed in the field using period equipment, chemicals and methods. Shame the promised input didn't materialise but nevertheless you produced some stunning and evocative images which are also an exercise in Living History.

You are welcome at anything I/we arrange in the future and you will be given as much access as we can provide.

So much better than any digital at capturing the period feel - as a former pro photographer (1976 - 1989) I appreciate the effort you put in to produce the images at all!!

Thanks for the kind words.

I have to say it was not just me taking these photos. David (hannable brooks on the forum) was equally responsible. I am looking forward to the film he hopes to produce from the video he shot.

Pug42, we were both amazed at how forgiving of poor conditions the paper was during printing. It was light enough in the tent at night that we didn't need a safe light on.

The prints were fantastic in the flesh. These days a real print is such a rare beast.
The scans of them are great but I'd get a 'hard' copy from Mark and his team.

No one yet seems to have picked up on Mark's use of "Signal" type quotes - One liner soundbytes in the language of the day - Another invention of the Nazi Propaganda Machine...... Still loved and used today by everyone.

Incredible work - huge kudos to you.

I used to process/enlarge my own film and even in a proper dark room often had suspect results - these all look the business!

I still shoot film but i switched off my safe light long ago - Processing the film is as far as i go. I would love to see your setup at a future event.
