I keep looking at these photo's and seeing something new or different in almost every one!

That last pic of a Fallschirm Gefreiter... Is it a flieger with piping around the collar? Back to my books...

Happy regards,

Gary.

Thanks for sharing, and the experts reckon "sepia" style wasn't used in WW2 lol

What I really like with old photos is that they try NOT to look at the camera ;)

In the late 19th century sepia was allready produced.
By a pigment added to the positive print of a photograph.
The pigment is taken from cuttlefish, a squid!

On the last batch of pics, No 4 SS man, whats the purpose of the two colour twisted piping around the collar and shoulder boards? (I'm not up on my ss stuff).

This is a great thread, if anyone's got anymore original pictures, post them up as its nice to see properly shot studio pictures where you can make our uniform details. My group (GD Recon) did a simliar shoot to this with Nick Halling a couple of weeks ago. Here's the results.

Some really excellent photographs , the naval HJ , female RAD official , HJ Luftwaffe / flak helper may seem "run of the mill" but I think they are great photos , one of the last TK / SS guys has an unusual badge on his pocket.
You have to wonder "where are they now" , or what fate befell them...... for example were the brides made widows .... pretty hard hitting question when you look at the potential happiness had it not been for the war.
A very good selection, cheers Cam.
