You have to wonder "where are they now" , or what fate befell them...... for example were the brides made widows .... pretty hard hitting question when you look at the potential happiness had it not been for the war.
A very good selection, cheers Cam.
The badge worn by the TK guy is the badge of the SA rally at Braunschweig 1931,2nd pattern I believe,it commemorated the 1931 Sa rally for more than 100,000 SA &SS members at Brunswick and was given official recognition on 6th November 1936 as a national award of the NSDAP.
"I require able bodied men, with good horse and gun.
I wish none but those who desire to be actively engaged".
"Come on boys,if you want a heap of fun and to kill some yankees".

Does anyone know who the HJ RKT is? That is a VERY interesting portrait.

The kid in the Saharina is another good shot.

interesting shot of the kid in tropical uniform, wehrmacht volksturm with ss insignia?????

17 was the minimum age of recruitment into the ss and he doesn't look a day over 15. [were the volksturm short on uniforms or what?]
can anyone grant me some understanding of his possible situation????

Hey Paul, thats SS-Hauptsturmführer Gerd Hein

Cam

Gerd Hein was selected to be the Inspector General of the WEL camp system. Gerd Hein was a Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak leaves award recipient and later, he was promoted to be a battalion commander (Btls.Kdr.) in the 12th SS Panzer Division "Hitlerjugend".

This tunic, but as a sergeant (1943) is now in my possession and is up on the shoes completely.
