Spanhoe 2005

Post by MattEllis »

Hi all,

Just a quick note.

Hopefully my pics from Spanhoe will be ready and in the hands of Alex by friday of this week. Assuming that there are any the are good enough, you will be seeing them on the site next week.

Fingers crossed!

got quite a lot to follow, but this will do for now. I think Matt deserves a little subsection of the GDLHS site if he is going to continue to take photos as good as this.

Some nice pix there, well done!

Are any of the battle shots I supplied from Peak Rail some time ago going to be used?

yes they will be, but I couldnt use them until I had others. he thing is with the battle pics is that only a few of them had any of us in them! but I think I probably have enough material now to build a new page with general wwii reenacting pics on (whether GDLHS are in the frame or not!).

Thanks for the positive feedback!

It seems that the black and white photos worked much better than the colour ones so I'll stick with B&Wnext time.

Now I've got to go and rob a bank so I can buy a Leica IIIa!

I'll be editing them and adding various pics from Walther and so on to make a GDLHS version. that will have to wait!

lol, too bloody right! trouble is with the photoshop automate thing is that it isn't actually very good, you dont get much control with it. It'll do for this site for now, but I will probably rethink the whole gallery page at some point in the near future. As with everything on the web, you put it up as a stopgap and then think about how to make it work properly ...

here's a gallery I made for work, takes bloody ages hand sizing all the images, custom cropping etc. It took long enough choosing the photos!
