Did you know that one of Hitlers SS staff Karl Wilhelm Krause also wore the Narvik shield on his SS tunic ??? I will try to find the photo I have in my collection of him wearing it . Very rare indeed !

Karl Wilhelm Krause ? what for ? afaik he wasnt there, as he served with AH at that time...

Now guys here are not one but three different photos showing the Narvik shield been worn by SS Untersturmfuhrer Karl Wilhelm Krause .Mario , I hope you are impressed ??? .Two of the photos show Karl in fieldgrey tunic but the third is Karl in Black SS Panzer uniform in Normandy '44 with his pet dog . Note also the Naval destroyers badge been worn by Karl , this man had a very interesting career indeed !!!

Those are nice pic,s Justin and going by these pic,s his shield is on dark blue backing and not
field grey as you would expect.On the wehrmacht awards website they have a photo of an ss mann wearing a blockade runners badge.

Hi JJ, yes you are correct .Krause is wearing the Narvik shield on its original navy blue backing . I find. such photos as this so interesting

This chap (Fregattenkaptain Hans Erdmenger) came my way yesterday, from a sitting for war artist Willrich - the Narvik Shield can be seen outlined in the sketch.

Joel there is something about his ability to mix colour with sketch outlines, he captures the subject very well.
