There are already many discussions about camouflage patterns and how they look like and which sizes and colours the patterns had. The simple answer is, the right colors and sizes of the patterns does not exist, only the correct camouflage patterns (for example, the 4-colored peas dot pattern does not exist, only on fantasy repros). This I would like to illustrate with a few pictures of different original pieces of the "same" camouflage pattern.

Original German camouflage cloth was produced by many different manufacturers in a big variety of colors and sizes of patterns. Only your personal taste decides which colors look good or not.

I hope this is helpful.

Hi Tom,

thanks for that introduction into "Sumpf Tarn Muster".

Personally I like the last picture the most: "1944 small size pattern blurred edge variant". Looks great.

Best regards,

Caen44.

That is some quality porn. I like the use of the direct translation, marsh, calling it Tan and Water is for me a real turn off.

A very helpful riposte to those anoraks that maintain there is only one 'right' way to reproduce a pattern...

Anoraks... geddit? Oh never mind I'll get me (Marsh) coat... :D

Yes there are some proper ways to reproduce camo patterns, but there are also many wrong
ways to do it. There are many bad examples .... Arrgh... I have to bite on my tongue because
I can´t tell it here ... you must find it out by yourself.

Those are a few verry nice patterns.

I like the "1944 Big size pattern blurred edge variant" (muster 44) for winter padded uniforms.
Unfortualy there is no one who make good copy muster 44 winter uniforms.
The tsjech productions have candy colours and are all "muster 43" pattern.

Hi Roel VGD,

of which czech production Sumpftarn Muster you are talking about? Don´t know any vendor who is selling or any supplier who is producing them...
I know SMW, Sturm, BL and WW2C are producing Sumpftarn pattern and none of them look like the original prints
(my opinion)....but czech Sumpftarn? Never heard about it.
Do you got a link?

Best regards,

Caen44.
