My Canteen

Post by pzrwest »

Here are some pics of a canteen and cup I have. Both the bottle and cap are marked AEM.A and 39 below. So I'm assumeing that it is a matched set. Except for the cup it's markings are L&SL 35 and has alot of paint loss to the cup. On the handle side of the cup has the letters A O scratched into it on the front side it has 21 and an upside down A scratched into it.
Anyone have any info on the makers marks

Would be nice if I could find a cup with the same markings as the bottle and cap. I checked the cover and found it too is also marked. It's marked AEM.A but year 40. So not sure if it is original to the bottle and cap or the it was put together this way by the maker. I can't see someone searching out matching parts and putting it together. The cup is probably not original to the canteen. It's possible it was married to the canteen during the war, maybe mixed up with a fellow soldiers. There is a picture of a soldier with a bunch of canteens on a strap and messtins maybe the canteen got switched then
