6X30 Binocular strap and leather cover.

I just purchased a set of 6x30 binoculars and a set of repro straps and the leather lens cover? If it is called that. Anyways, does anyone have an illustrated instruction of how these are attached to the binoculars. I have tried, but must be doing something wrong as the cover doesn't stay on the binoculars at all. Actually pretty pointless to have them on at the moment.
