Hiki early Y-straps

Post by Dreckmann »

Hi!
Some people from my group are thinking about buying the early model of Y-straps. After looking some places we find the ones from Hikishop but we don't know about his leather items... Any one has them or know about its quality?
Regards.

My experience with their leather is that it looks fake and feels elastic, except their officer belt, mine after a few years of wear looks like an original and is sturdy...could be the same with the Y-straps. But the stuff on their canteens and backpacks is crap.

Arthur is correct - some of their leather is utter jobbies. The thin stuff like the canteen straps, bino straps, straps on gaiters, etc, is utter balls.

The leather used on his equipment straps, etc isn't a bad match for originals - its by no means stunning leather, but its sturdy and made to the correct pattern.

I'd guess his Y straps would fall into a similar category of leather. If you take the plunge, let us know!
