Noted and advice appreciated, mayhaps I'll ship it to the UK first to a friend then. No problems with doing that after 10+ guns sent there. But sent from Germany, that way there's no customs.

I realise how uptight it is over there and precautions will be taken, however I do believe if the population in general would be less uptight about it, it would be less of an issue, same case in Vancouver Canada and the gun laws went really tight until the people just topped caring and rolling their eyes, so they actually dropped a lot of the restrictions just like that. Then the police devoted less time to hunting down innocent gun owners, collectors, hunters etc and actually did some real policing against the Chinese and Indian mafias...maybe one day things will change on your island...we'll see, but I'm getting off topic here...

There was a case last yr i think it was, a guy was going to a show and was
loading his car, obviously didn't cover up his deact weapons and some nosey
parker walked past and saw them, phoned the Police and that was that, a
squad of armed Police surrounded his house, the deact weapons were seized
and destroyed and the guy was charged then later fined :o .......thats why us
stiff assed Brits are paranoid about gun laws tbh

Mind you it was the guys own fault, he had been careless, but it just goes
to show that one slip or lack of thought then you have had it, his argument
was he was loading his car early in the morning and didn't think anybody
would be about, what that other guy was doing sniffing round his car at 5am
is beyond me but there are always people about when you are doing things.

As for me i cover the deacts in sand bags when loading the car, one nosy neighbour
asked me what these long covered items were i said i was going on a fishing trip,
and they were fishing rods.....my point is after this story....always be carefull

When i started to collect BF's and Deacs the first thing i did was to ask a neighbour (police officer) what was the best way to prevent my front door being kicked in at 4am. I rang the Met's fire arms unit and made them take down what 'weapons' i had. asked why i said to prevent noisy neighbours spreading rumours. That was in 2003 and it still works now, every time the local police go by they are invited to see and check the met's list, approx 6 times a year.
So no problems there, as prevention is better than cure and i have nothing to hide!!!
Also i have made a point of telling our neighbours that i have these deac and BF's on my property and again if the want to see them then so be it.
Also worked well for the local ATC as well.
