Hello, does anyone know where I can get an MG42 or MG53? I am looking to fire blanks at reenactments, and want to stay as close as possible to the real thing. I'm located in the U.S. Thanks in advance!

You would need to go to a specialized gun importer and source one from him. not sure it fully automatic is permissable in USA.

Do you live in an MG friendly state? About 6 or 7 of the 50 states do not allow private ownership of MGs.
Both the MG 42 and the M53 are available on the US MG market. The M 53 will be a bit less expensive, but much harder to find.
I hope you have lots of $$$ because an MG 42 will run in the $25,000+ range for just the bare gun. An M 53 will be closer to $20K, but as I said not as many out there.
There is also another possibility - there are 2 or 3 companies that make a semi-auto only version that has the same restrictions as buying a rifle. These run between $3 & 4000.

With a cyclic rate of 1500 rounds per minute, you could go broke just on blanks lol..
