I'm selling my deac and never having to sell such an item I was wondering if anyone can give me some pointers re posting?

Who's the best to use, Royal Mail or a courier service?

Always found a courier company to be easier for de-act rifles, cheaper and faster than Royal Mail every time

Dont use 'UK Mail' theyre useless a deact MG34 i had shipped from NI arrived badly damaged and a cased EK1 also in the package stolen, when I tried to claim compensation they took 4 weeks to tell me I wouldnt get anything as the De-act gun wasnt covered by their terms of service. Wankers!

The south of Ireland has been a REPUBLIC since the 40s and is no longer linked to the commonwealth. the term free state is usually used by those casting a slur on the legitimacy of our independent state hard fought, hard won and Maintained. off topic yes but as a citizen of the Republic of Ireland I take offence to such a slur.

What Guderian has posted is correct and legal . Can those who know nothing about the law in The Republic of Ireland please stop posting incorrect information , you are only making a ass of yourself .

The standard caveat if you are sending any item of this nature outside England, Scotland and Wales is to make enquiries with the relevant competent authorities in the country where you are consigning the item. Get the information in writing. If you are repeating the process again, go through the motions each time as it negates a case/instance specific advice argument if anything untoward happens.

Whether it's going to Eire, a despotic Warlord in Africa or the dark side of the moon, make those due diligence checks as it could prevent a lot of problems for both the consignor and consignee.

Now unless posters are (a) legally qualified in the country of receipt and/or (b) are posting in an official capacity I'd suggest we keep the advice to the legal eagles.

Feldjager , you are spot on in what you have posted . I can only speak for myself here as one who has imported deacts into The Republic of Ireland so I am speaking from experience .
Guderian , works in the legal field so he is legally qualified to give his opinion , this of course is based on law related to The Republic of Ireland .
It is very dangerous for persons to pass comments on matters that they know nothing about , this can in turn can effect others .
