g98 short version

ill post photos up later as using a mobile device, can i ask was the g98 made in a shorter version ,as yesterday i was shown what essentially looks like a g98 but it is a lot smaller than the german ww1 g98 it has the same hook under neath it ie the top of the barrel and the wood work looks the same but the length is a lot shorter i can can only see when i look up a carbine version one that looks very different, photos i would appreciate , also i had please to see no 46 no50 and no 51 of the origional run of thompson machine guns as well

Sounds like a K98A carbine to me Mairtin.

hi graham i was at a private museum yesterday and was shown these im still trying to get them up loaded from my phone to here but without much success to be honest , will try again

Ahh. Thats no 98a.

Quite what it is I'm not sure - so many Masuer variants that will for the most part share bits, it could be anything.

*edit* What calibre is it? looks suspiciously like a .410 barrel?

there is a lot of info on the barrel i need to get closer shots of it and a strange motif or wording on the top of the barrel the site looks like a normal k98 site instead of the curved g98 site

To me it looks like a K98, a G98 bolt, a 410 barrel and an oddball stock.

Potentially partially a Vz24?
