I have seen one of these awful things about 3 years ago in Europe, they are live K98s that have a blocked muzzle (mastic!) and a top venting hole under the bastardized rear sight and fire 8mm blanks through modified empty cases, you get 5 of these converted cases with the thing and they are extremely loud/dangerous and illegal in England (live to blank and all that)

It was removed from milweb because of this ? and hopefully destroyed

it might not have been one of these? but i cant see it being anything other!

It was indeed 8mm, seller said it was a top quality weapon thats why he wanted £750
It has indeed gone now.

Beautiful condition. Lots of nice clear WaA stamps + serial numbers. Modified to fire 8mm blanks. Really smooth and crisp bolt action. Asking £750 for it - yes it really is that good!
What worries me is the statement "modified to fire 8mm blanks"
Was this scratch built or a reactivated k98 if so i thought this was illegal, anyone know more about this K98?

I know enough not to touch it with YOUR bargepole!

You can bet your party number that whoever buys it will have Special Branch banging the door down at 4am.

Seems really dodgy , shouldn't this be taken off milweb ? , I am sure it was the last time .

I sent the seller an email asking what it was converted from.
No reply as yet.

Then someone somewhere is in possession of an illegal, unlicenced Section 1 Firearm - It may also be "readily convertible" back to being capable of discharging a projectile.

The buyer (if he is reading this) is as irresponsible as the vendor - and is in effect endangering the integrity of the hobby........

You're absolutely right. That's terrifying! It did look very pretty though...

Not as pretty as the 30 live, legal ones I have in the armoury - Which can be hired very reasonably and will ensure you stay within the law.......
