Have a bit of a task ahead of me.
Some weapons have just been discovered in a shed. They have been there "several years". In that time the shed has leaked extensively and the weapons fell on to the floor from where they were leaned up.

So I took a couple of them and stripped as much of them down as I could then put them to soak in WD overnight.
They were in a state.

Yesterday I managed to revive one of them. It took all day.

And today I breathed new life into another.

So it is possible to bring rusty old heaps back from the dead.......... Might post more as the project progresses if you're interested.

They have been blasted Si - but as you know - it gets everywhere and working parts will seize if you're not careful. SO they have to be stripped down completely. Have a fiddle with the mechanism on your MG42 top cover!!!!! I've got everything I need - Blaster, airlines, snap on chests full of tools, blacking tank etc. but it's still a lot of work getting things unstuck and apart without butchering them...... 3 mins in the blaster makes them look like aluminium. Then degreasing, then blacking, then setting and finally oiling........ All takes time mate.

Can't see many people being jealous of the work involved, a bit envious of the collection maybe but not the work
Are they yours now, or are you doing this as a favour for somebody?

They are going into the collection - Don't know it they are fit to bring back to life - Proof House will sort that out though..... All will be revealed about where they are going and why in a while......
On with the Brens today....... feckers to get apart they are that rusted........ soaking in the penetrating oil tank as I speak.

I think non worn parts will be exchanged for tired ones and these will end up as Deacts........ some of them are quite salty.

Thanks - I'm away to the South West on business early in the morning but when I get back I am going to start on the two M1919s....... and then the No4s. I'm leaving the odd jobs til last. Done some research on the odd looking gat on the right.

Dunno if it's rare or what but it's the worst of the lot - I suspect it's actually a dug up.........

Anyway we had a stab at it
