Epic Militaria Premium Y straps

Post by Remf »

I have just purchased a set of Epic Militaria Premium Y straps, and the quality is in my opinion the best on the market. I have over time looked at other dealers and was not impressed by theirs, so decided to take a chance on the Epic ones and am glad I did.

These are the Y straps I bought and even at £55 I think they are a bargain.

If anyone wants to take a look at mine I will be at the SBG weekend at the end of Febuary.

Not exclusively. Most did but some didn't. Later models are sometimes seen with narrow back strap.

Thats a lot of money for a pair of half-converted Czech postwar y-straps.
These days, you can get much better straps with correct specs, for less.

I'll be happy to see a leather german Y-strap with that kind of end!

And the ammo pouch hooks on the end, they dont look like my originals, they look like post war Czech.

You must understand there are at least 3 different models of hooks used on the front of the Y straps. Wich of one is a swivel type.

I did wonder about that but nearly every pic in books shows the big deep hook type ones, not the ones used in repros.

That looks like a narrow back strap to me?

As does that one, not the same style but the same idea, parallel sides.

Stig,

First one is good, but not what I ment! The second one has a czech backstrap, that you can see because of the holes to adjust the length. Should be Teardrop-shape! It's the typical Chech backstrap, and this type is NOT produced for the german army!

Converted Czech straps, look at the leather and you`ll know it. My friend also makes one`s like that:

Its a pity that apparently there are no more Czech straps with smooth leather. Unfortunately, I sold mine a few years ago and never seen one`s like that ever since :| .

Don't worry about the Czech straps, they are too narrow anyway.
