I`m impressed by the level of detail that is shown on here.

Pipes did you make the washkit bag ? Or is it an original ? I`ve planned on making a few small `bags` to keep the little/personel items in.What`s the actual material ? If you have a detailed photo or dimensions I`d be grateful...

Hi KDF, the wash bag is one ive made earlier lol

I copied it from an equipment book, apparantly
they also had colour code labels on them, such
as red for food, blue for wash kit and so on.

The bag was made from a K-D material with
a draw string similar to original ones.

Ive also made some binno cases from splinter
material as well, amazing the things you do when
working nights lol

Cheers Pipes :)

No probs, iam up to my eyes working at the mo but will post up some info :)

The original bags apparantly could be bought from the camp shops and were
usually in a "cotton-drillich" material, mine was based on this!

Also there is as far as i can remember some info in the Deutchen Soldaten book,
but haven't got the book to hand at the moment, will check tonight!

Regards Pipes

I cheated and cut up a K-D shirt which was too small lol, but try "fleabay"
for material??, sometimes things crop up, either that or curtain/material shops etc,

You could do as i did and get hold of some unwearable K-D clothing from Oxfam/second
hand shops and cut em up!! :D

Drill cotton is very easy to buy, just went into my home city`s market and they sell it there. Now all I need is a sewing machine.

Cheers Pipes for giving me some interest in the subject again. :)

No worries kamerad :)

That's why i keep buying new equipment and uniforms when i get bored, people think
im nuts and a poseur with all this kit but it keeps me intrested in the hobby!!! lol

PS: A good book which i have used for reference for kit is the "Deutche Soldaten" book,
people reckon it is a "coffee table" book and only for beginners but i recommend it
and is a good source of compact info all in one book???

Good hunting, Pipes

Top ones are postwar Russian. If you want them at least to look like wartime tank crew/pilot`s goggles which could possibly be captured and used by a German Landser you have to replace the strap with wider one (that is what I did in my pair)
