Does anybody own a German original or repro vehicle?

For all your vehicle questions etc.

You can buy a klaxon horn for French vehicles that sound like their Police ones - Except the civvy ones go Ogh-Oghee-OghOgh!

Our Group has an original Ford 3000s truck that was originally found in the Hurtgen Forest and an 1943 Ex-LAH Kubel, the truck is running, and the kubel is undergoing some work, but I should have some pics very soon of both.both machines owned by our unit C/O.

That's a very kind offer, but I must warn you that Debbie & mechanical objects don't get along. On a visit to Mildenhall she managed to break a brand new, up-armored Humvee turret. Not only did she break part of it clean off, but the guys tasked to fix it couldn't work out how she'd managed to do it!

I've got a catalogue from the DKW club in Germany, but I haven't looked at the 125 section yet...

My Kubel

Post by drew »

Hi all
I have posted a picture of my 1944 Kubelwagen (Drews Kubel) in the gallery but I'm not sure how to get it to show up here.
It is suprisingly original and even has the original camo under several layers of paint.
I will be restoring it to original battered condition over the next few years.
The quality of engineering on these vehicles is amazing and I am hoping to rebuild this own as close as possible to the way it was in combat in 1944.
Volkswagen in Germany have been very helpful and have a provided the original build details from the chassis number.
At some time in it's life the rear bodywork had been cut down to create a flat bed van so restoration is going to take some time.
You can see more pictures at http://www.kubelwagen.co.uk (members vehicles).
I am just starting out on military vehicle restoration although I have been restoring Porsche 356's for some years now.
My real passion is armour and it's only a matter of time before I realy piss off the wife and bring home something with tracks.
Great forum hope to see and chat to some of you at Beltring this year, I'll be the guy walking around with a 2cm pak AA gun if I can track one down.
Talk soon

I have a small 1941 ford truck that ist finished yet. It should be noted that moutain units used the smaller trucks. which is what we represent.
