Mercedes Benz Type 1500A - Photo's wanted

Post by Spindler »

Help Required.

Has anyone got any photo's, technical data or even locations of existing Mercedes Benz Type 1500A's. Any help would be appreciated and if you are a re-enactor, a beer at one of the shows :) .

Many thanks.

Possibly i can help you, i had some work on a 1943 one.
It has some postwar conversions because he ended his working live as a firetruck.
As far as i know it is a MB1500.

Lett me know and i will take some pictures and see if i can find the handbook.

Its a war time Mercedes Benz Type L 1500 A Mannschaftswagen. I think these were built around 1941-1943.

Thanks for the photo link. Does you (or anyone) know of one still in existance? I'm aware the body is very similar to the Steyr's and that the spare wheel is located internally.

Need photo's and as much technical guidance as I possibly can for a full on restoration project.

There is a chap I know in North Devon who has one under restoration - I think he recently bought a second one as a donor vehicle. I beleieve he has the flat bed version, but I don't know any more details beyond that I'm afraid.

Try contacting Mike Gibb of the SdKfz Foundation - If I recall he has or had one and surely a guy like Mike will have some techy info etc. He's not a guy to do things by halves as we all know,
