I saw that AFRA is working on their halftrack and I thought it could be nice to show a little film from this weekend when we worked with our "Gretl".

Looking good - Weird that this weekend in two countries far apart, two sets of re-enactors doing the same thing..... and not re-enacting!
Tip - Bin the mechanical fuel pump and fit an electric one. 90% of problems are caused with fuel.....
Also tension those tracks.... You keep dragging slack track and when running at speed this will eventually weaken pins and throw the track.....
Hope to see your Gretl soon finished and painted... keep up the hard work.

Thanks, it´s a small worldLooking good - Weird that this weekend in two countries far apart, two sets of re-enactors doing the same thing..... and not re-enacting!
Heard that before but after cleaning the pump filters and blowing the fuel pipes with high presure air , it works perfect.Tip - Bin the mechanical fuel pump and fit an electric one. 90% of problems are caused with fuel.....
And when the fuel tank is cleaned I think it will be even better.
But if it give us any more trouble we will change it to a electric pump.
I also noticed that the tracks are slacking , will take a look att that next time .Also tension those tracks.... You keep dragging slack track and when running at speed this will eventually weaken pins and throw the track.....

The back doors are streight at an angle not angled the sides have stowage bins cut in and the tracks are metal and moved by 2 paralell teeth not a single one in the middle if you know what i mean (but is a bit to hard to replicate so is never done) there are also pistol holes all along the side need welding upvon papen wrote:what are the differneces between the ot800 and a german ausf d?, all i konw off is the hinged roof bits
Quite a bit to make it look convincing
The Hanomag (251) has a Maybach Petrol Engine and the Tatra (OT810) has an air cooled diesel.
The Dimensions differ slightly as the Tatra has a larger front end to accomodate the engine as well as it being higher.... When converting them all these subtle differences need taking into consideration.....
Also the gearbox and steering arrangements and mechanics differ considerably. Most notably the OT has manual trackbrakes as well as pneumatic steering.......
