M42 repro helmets?

Post by rsvpiper »

Hi ALL

Can anyone recommend a good M42 helmet supplier here in the UK. I've looked on fleabay but don,t like the look of any of them plus most seem to only come in a size 58-60 looking for a size 57

Thanks in advance

I can't recommend a repro helmet supplier. They're all made in the far east now, and the shape and quality vary. I recommend either buying at a show, where you can see what you're buying, or get one from Richard Underwood, who restores original shells.

As far as i'm aware, there are no repro helmets in smaller sizes than 58. My personal opinions is that no repro M35-M42 helmets available look good enough.

Original 64 shells are plentifull, and you can get them quite cheap :)

Many thanks all I've managed to get hold of a real nice M42 shell from Italy, with very little rust pitting :D so now just require a good liner and chin strap some paint Oh and the time to sort it all out :x :? :o
