Changing Liner

Just wondering with changing liners in helmets.
I brought a steinhelm last year which came with a size 58 Liner.WHich is too big for me.
If I wanted to change the liner to a 57 liner can I use the same Shell as the 58 liner came with?
If I have to get a differnet shell I may as well buy a new complete helmet

Is it a repro or original shell? A 64 size shell would be correct for an original helmet using a 57 size liner.
