Chicken Wire, Truth or false?

Post by valkyrie895 »

I have heard some mixed opinions on the presence/ non-presence of certain types of chicken wire, ie; it has to have a certain number of twists, or a certain size hex pattern.
I want to make a wire cover for my spare helmet, and I want to make sure i do it right.
Does anybody have a source for the rigt chicken wire, or even any information on whether or not such a thing exists?
Thanks!

The issue with chicken wire is that you need to obtain the correct European sized hex hole wire. It hasnt been made for the past 50 years, and unless you obtain the right sized stuff, it will just look wrong. It was used but not often.

Isn't it also dependent on which front you are portraying? Not much chicken wire on the Russian steppes, so not really used on the eastern front.

(waits for someone to come up with a picture of a chicken wire lid in Stalingrad)
