SOF helmet correct colour?
Hello,
I use an M35 (infantry)helmet from Soldier of Fortune, although the website says it's painted in correct field grey, I have received comments about the colour being too dark. I portray late war Volksgrenadier.
Are there people who have opinions on the SOF helmets?
regards

It's fine, perhaps a bit shiny. Only good for mid to late war though, as it is.

I wore the m36 feldbluse on occasion, I normally always use an M43. I bought my kit together with another experienced reenactor who said this kit is correct for a late war impression, the only thing I see that can be improved for late war are the ammo pouches, the mess tin and Y-straps on the picture look good.

wots wrong with using early kit ?....it was used throughout the war

Re: SOF helmet correct colour?
yup, too many variations possible for general statements. As it is a m35 it would be an overpaint anyway. Nothing wrong with wearing a M36 late in the war either, as long as you don't have entire units running around in full poland getup. Depends on the unit as well.les hearn wrote:i have a couple of origional helmets ..late war ..raw edge ....only texture they got is the brush strokes.....

No, they would be made of steel. Is it possible to see overpaint-brushstrokes on fabric?

You and the guy behind you could improve things by fastening the ammo pouches?OliverVU wrote: the only thing I see that can be improved for late war are the ammo pouches,
