Helmet decal question (pt.2)

Okay, now that I know how far the decal should be, below the air vent, I was wondering if anyone had a tip on keeping the decal in tact under any weather conditions and or reenactment conditions? What is the other method to applying the decal other than placing it on and letting it dry?

I just tried the dry transfer decals from http://www.military-steel-helmets-and-decals.com/ and they are fantasitc much superior to the water slde or peel and stick ones. I put a KM one on my m35 repro following their directions and came out perfect. Then I followed their directions and oversprayed the decal with Testors Glosscoat. I'm impressed the gold color isn't just paint but metalic like their ad says they are more expensive that the water slide type $10.00 per decal but well worth the money will never go back to the water slide decals again after seeing these type. here are the pics:

Woohoo finally somewhere that has SS 2nd pattern decals in stock! I've been looking for one for bloody ages. TIme to get an order sent off methinks :D
