@ Herr Pete: Did you used ral 7000 for your kriegsmarine helmet?
i would have let the edges around the decal feldgrau,just like other camo helmets.
The kriegsmarine colour was not applyd in the factory,they often sprayed
or painted it over de feldgrau paint.

Let me hunt it down for you mate. The label has the ral on it. Purely depends on whether or not the decal was on the helmet before hand as M40 helmets technically should have a decal on them so the vast majority were added by the soldier. The grey on this helmet is based on the shipboard grey which was different from the other grey's used off ship.
