I've put together a set of Headphones and a Throat Mic for a Panzer crew Uniform I'm Working on. The Headphones work still, it just has a small break in one of the wires I'm going to fix that eventually. However my Throat Mic is a different Story. The Cords were cut off the ends, So I'm looking to rewire it. I also found the switch to "Key" the mic. Last thing I need is a Plug at the end of the cord for it. So I was hoping if there is someone out there willing to measure the length of the cords and take a picture of the switch unscrewed so I could see how to wire her all back together.
Also any info on how crews operated the radios would also be appreciated. I'm a tanker in the US Army, so with my headset I'm able to talk to my crew, and am also able to key out and talk to other vehicles as well. I'm tracking most tanks had radio operators back then, so I'm just wondering if the Tank commander was able to key out from his station in order to talk to other vehicles or did the radio operator do all of that? Thanks.
