wwii axis reenactment forum

this came with a load of bits from Germany , the other parts look like they were dug from a dumping ground for german boxes/crates etc

from the photo I thought it was vehicle handle but its much too heavy for that ..any ideas from the vehicle buffs ?





there was something fitted through the narrow part for sure.

any ideas ?

looks like a door handle for a car

To me it looks like one of two things a) part of a spring shackle from a truck or b) part of a pittman arm / drag link assembly.

Much to heavy for a door handle les its 700g

strong enough for a pittman arm but would they not have either two (at least) 15mm holes or one hole and a ball pin joint ?

I`ll get it cleaned up a bit to give a better idea of it

It looks very much like the pin of a tow hitch something like this on my Ford V3000
