Hi there,
just wondering If any of you out there may know the differences between the web copies of SMWholesale (Y straps specially, A frame, Koppel) and ATF. Which one are you buying?

I have ATF's canvas Y straps, couldn't be happier. Realistically you can't go wrong with either though. ATF's feature some different shades of canvas mixed in, which is a nice touch.
I also have his 'texled' A-Frame, A frame bag, MP40 pouches, K98 pouches, backpack, bayonet frogs, etc, etc aswell as tunics and trousers. Can't go wrong with Rollin's stuff IMO.

I got SMW's y-straps and koppel, and ATF's equipment straps, tornister straps, and bayonet frog. Both make top notch stuff, however i perfer ATF because they use different shades of webbing, but that's just my personal opinion.
ATF's y-straps got woven holes in the rear strap, wich SMW's don't have.

Re: Web equipment SMW or ATF?
I believe Rollin (ATF) & Steve (SMW) did kind of a joint venture on the web gear. However, Rollin had some additional changes to his run (which I believe is a bit better as mentioned by Hoffmann).
I did notice that the "D" rings on the back of the "Y" straps on both ATF & SMW are very close to the the sewn fold over of the left & right straps. If you look at the ATF leather & M44 "Y" straps the distance is much bigger.
My question is that for those of you that have ATF or SMW web "Y" straps, are there any issues with your "A" frame sitting correctly on your back?

My a frame sits fine. I feel mp40 touches sit a little lower than they would on normal leather y straps. Still fine though.
